well, as we know with the cold weather, its a bit hard to wash your car...and this is Vegas! its like in the 40's today, and I wanted to wash my car, but its way to cold! How do you guys do it when it gets cold? do you take it through one of those car washes?? or what?

I finally broke down and took it to one of those drive through ones..it did actually a good job, even on the rims, I didnt feel as bad when an SS pulled up behind me, and drove his through to..he was a little older than me, he also parked his right next to mine to dry it off, we talked a little, gotta love the camaro brotherhood!

If you really wash your car good you'd be workin up a sweat, do it mid day when the suns out. I blow-dry my bird with a leaf blower then move it in the heated garage for detailing.

I keep my hose stored in my shop (not heated unless I turn on the space heaters) stored with NO water in it and then even if near or around freezing (makes a difference if the sun is out) I hook the hose up to the house spicket and then get two five gallon buckets and get some hot water from the house in them and start washing, works pretty good. Buy a 100% RUBBER hose, makes a huge difference over a vinyl hose in the cold.

Cold weather washing is probably the main reason I had 'heated garage' very high on my house-plan priority list...

lmao @ 40 degrees !

the one and only winter that i drove my Z was when i first got it........i remember hand washing it at a local self-service wash, i washed it several times (6,7,8 etc. times) when it was 10-30 degrees out !!
and that was even using a wash mit and the pressure wand !

yeah 40 here is cold to me!! its really not that bad..its just a pain in the ***, that I could do without...I love washing my car though...and in Nevada that sucks, because its either WAY hot, or just to where I dont wanna go out because its to cold..we usually get that one month where its nice from changing of season..but it just went from really hot to cold..

It could be 0deg F or maybe even -10deg F like it was here today. I washed the ol' warwagon. Froze the doors closed on the way home from the wash, but you just have to learn to push harder when you want out.

Come on, where are the nerves of steel?

Or should I say, the nerves of Numb?

I'll hand wash, with mit and garden hose, my car in a 10 degree rainstorm, I don't care how cold it is. Hands go numb in 10 min, and moving around keeps the rest of me warm.
