Cleaning the engine

Well, I think Im going to clean the engine up tomorrow before I put the car up for the winter.

What do I need to cover before putting a hose on it?? What is safe to use to break the grease?

Any other suggestions??

Try using a dry paintbrush to clean your engine. It's safe and it cleans in hard-to-reach places.

I wouldn't spray your engine down with a hose, there's a lot of diagnostics and electrical components under the hood.

I went at it with about 100 cloth rags and engine degreaser......its alot more work but it cleans it alot better than just hosing it down.
