Cleaner wax??
Cleaner wax??
WHAT EXACLTY is it........i know a tiny bottle of it comes with the mothers clay kit, is that a legit coating of wax?.......i mean after claying it is said that one is suppose to apply another coat of a wax for protection, but usually by the time i apply all the clay and lube and buffing all those circles, i just can't get it up to apply yet anohter wax coat......so is this ok, after i clay, and buff off, thats how i leave it.
PS-- i clayed my glass, for the first time ever, and am totally impressed with the results, i used clay magic on the glass and mothers on the vehicle itself.

Mother's, Zaino or Clay Magic will all give great results, and yes claying your glass really does make a difference. A cleaner wax is the most common wax you can purchase in stores, simply put it is wax that contains abrasives, it cleans your paint and leaves some wax behind, cleaner waxes will not layer, each coat you apply to your car will strip off any wax that is on the car when you start.
99% of all waxes on the market are cleaner waxes, they contain fine abrasives as mentioned but they also contain solvents like kerosene and stoddard solvent, napatha, etc.
All of the waxes you see in places like WalMart are for your average joe car owner, they clean and remove fine amounts of paint each time they are used. They are not the best products by ANY means for show cars or paint enthusiasts.....
Examples of Cleaner waxes:
Liquid Glass
Meguiars Gold Class
Prestone
Eagle One Wet
Meguiars wax (red bottle)
Turtle wax (all sorts)
Two examples of non cleaner waxes:
Mothers makes a carnauba with no cleaners
P21S
One example of synthetic with no cleaners or abrasives:
Zaino

Do you have to apply polish/wax after claying, no but it is the best time to do it.
