Car Cover

Anyone recommend a good car cover for 2000 Camaro SS? I am looking for indoor cover (garage stored) mostly to prevent damage to it getting bumped into while doing other activites in garage.

TIA

Thanks - just bought one. I guess my only challenge will be whether to cut the cover to let the battery charger leads in or to tuck them underneth.

Did you buy the CoverCraft one?

I run my battery tender connections out the bottom-front of the cover. I would not cut the cover, if it were mine. I use the cover all the time -- even when the tender is not connected.

Jason,

Jennifer was out in the rain last summer (Hannah's graduation party required the shop be empty). The cover did just as your video shows.

One question, what do you use to keep it from blowing off -- the factory-supplied string or something else?

I just make sure it is on correctly, and I use the cable and lock that I bought...but that is for theft and not for it not lifting.

Are you having problems with the wind blowing it off?

We had a pretty windy rainstorm the day of Hannah's graduation party. The car was outside because we needed the shop open to handle the cookout. The cover blew off at the height of the storm. I was watching, so I ran out and grabbed it, before it blew away. I did NOT have it tied on in any way.

Mine are G3 covers too, and I suspect that size fits the 5th-gen a lot tighter -- which would hold it on better. I think that the reason mine blew off is that since it was not tied, wind got under and lifted it off.

A friend of mine recommended a long bungee cord and I might try to find one. The included string is not going to cut it

Yeah, a good wind will pull any car cover off.

Two things come to mind...

Keep a 50 foot hank of 550 paracord handy, it may work better than hooking a bunch of bungee cords together (risking damage to your paint if the wind makes the hooks smack your car surface). It is cheap and useful for tons of other stuff. Search online how to make a good slipknot and you are in business.

OR...find some of those clips at Bed Bath and Beyond that hold sheets into a bed. I don't know how well that will work in high wind, though. It just popped into my head.

Both good suggestions. I need to go to Lowes today anyway for some rope. We have an extension ladder that is missing its' cord. I'll get some stock. The sheet keepers are a great idea too!
