Can you fill the line in the roof?

OK, my 93 Camaro was repainted a couple years back. A while after being painted, the paint on the roof started to lift. I'm suspecting that it's due to poor prep work considering the factory paint was fine for 10+ years in that spot. I'm considering sanding the whole roof down and getting it repainted so it doesn't look like crap anymore. One thing I've wanted to do though, was to fill that line in the roof. It always gets crap in it, wax always gets down in there, and I think it just looks lame. So can you fill it in? I know it's always hard to get shaved door handles on these cars to look right since they're SMC...is the roof the same way?
