I bought the car over a year ago and it had this on the hood:









I tried just going over it with a buffer (Im a n00b shoot me ) and it made it worse Any advice is greatly appreciated

 

do you have any idea what it is? You could "maybe" use a claybar, or we use this stuff at work called Red-Hot from AutoMagic, or Solvent from AutoMagic, they both work pretty good too

 

I'd give it a kiss with some 2000 grit then buff it to see how it looks on one of those sections. If that does'nt work you need a repaint

 

Repaint the hood. About now you may have remover all the clearcoat and the area will always be noticeable.

 

I was the one that took these pics for him and my thought is that it was bird poop that prob sat on there for months in the sun before he ever got it. I imagine that **** just ate thru the paint. Whats the best way to get that up?

 

The best thing to do as I said b4. If that does'nt work nothing will. Repaint time........

 

It looks like duct tape residue. Is it something sticky, scratched paint or just a damaged clearcoat?

If its sticky or clear damage then use an ultra fine compound and some elbow grease.


By the way it looks like a biblical person in a dress walking. Call the media!

 

Its not sticky or scratched, its like there is some semi transparent **** on top of the clear coat, but its been there for so long I dont know how the hell to get it out. It didnt look that bad until I tried waxing over it.

What kind of compound would you recommend?

 

3m Ultra Cut

 

Try a tiny spot with rubbing alchahol.

What is this 3M Ultra Cut, I did a google search and came up with post its

edit: rubbing alcohol made it turn less white, but didnt take it off. I am going to try and find a good claybar and see what happens. Anyone have any suggestions?

 

Do you think it might be paint? It kinda looks like someone with paint on their pants sat on the car... Perhaps try Paint thinner? (I would really careful with that stuff though)

Like i said b4 get some 2000 grit sandpaper and give it I nice little sanding, not to much just kiss it. Buff it out with some 3m compound.
