Can I wet-sand and buff out my paint?

I was looking at my hood and it is in not the best of shape due to a lot of little chips. What I wanted to do is to fill them with touch-up paint, then sand them flush and then buff out everything with an air powered buffer. Will this be ok or is the paint too thin to do something like that? I have done this whole process on a car I just repainted but I put a lot of clear on so there was a lot of material thickness to allow for this. Thanks.

If you know how to buff and wet sand then you'd be ok but I've never seen a touched up paint chip that looked good. I just leave my chips because I think it looks better than touching them up.

I would just bring it to a body shop and have them repaint it or bring it to a detailer and have them do it. Unless your experienced with that kind of stuff you could really mess up your hood.
