More than likely, yes, any bug and tar removers will strip Zaino. The formulas vary of course by brand, but most commercial removers contain some or all of the following: mineral spirits, alcohol, naphtha, and other strong chemicals. These types of chemicals will remove anything on the finish, Zaino included...

Like Mike said, yes more than likely, case in point, the Turle wax bug and tar remover that comes in the metal bottle is a cream abrasive which of course would remove any type of polish or wax present on the finish.

But, I have found that Stoners Tarminator will not really hurt the Zaino finish but will remove the tar, the Stoners is a liquid as thin as water and seems to be very paint friendly to me.

No question is a dumb question! We've all had to ask or learn at some point too. If you don't know, by all means ask away!! Who knows, in the process I, and others, may learn something new also. Glad to help.
