Post Blemishes on nose.

I've got what appear to be blemishes on the nose of my Gray Purple Metallic T/A they almost look like dead bugs but are much deeped than that. I've tried clay and polishes of all types. No help.

Any Ideas??? And please don't say Zaino.

sorry to say but that is bugs. they are inbeded in the flex agent in the paint. there is nothing you can do. if you get the nose painted do not have the flex agent added. when i was shopping i found alot of cars that this had happened to.

Has nothing to do with flex agents, any base coat or clear coat sprayed on a flexible surface needs a flex agent added to the paint, period!

Bugs have acids in their bodies just like humans do, these acids can eat into the clear coat if you leave the bugs on the finish for an extended period of time (can happen in just a few days time depending on what kind of bugs they are, if love bugs sooner than that) If the paint is in fact etched by the bugs, you can use a strong polish like rubbing compound and then step down to a finer polish like a polishing compound like 3M swirl mark remover. If that does not work, some wet sanding with 1500 to 2000 paper could help, and then hit it again with the rubbing and polishing compounds and then follow with what ever kind of wax you use.

You got your info from a paint and body shop? Whats your point, there are ALOT of paint and body shops who don't know what the hell they are talking about let alone know how to do good work. I would certainly trust someone like KevinSS who is known and respected by hundreds of people just on this board, he also happens to be the moderator on this board, you think he got that position by accident? He knows what he is talking about and even if he didn't, your response was quite dumb.

Thumbs up

I DO HAVE A BODY SHOP AND DO KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT, AND KEVIN IS RIGHT ABOUT THE ACID IN THE BUGS AND IT DOES HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FLEX ADDITIVE. THAT BEING SAID ACCORDING TO PPG CERTIFICATION INSTRUCTORS AND MY OWN EXPERIENCE , AFTER ABOUT A WEEK ANY PARTS PAINTED WITH A FLEX ADDITIVE WILL BE HARD ENOUGH FOR THE PAINT TO CRACK IF IT IS BUMPED IN A LIGHT ACCIDENT ANYWAY. SO TO SUM UP THE ONLY BENEFIT TO USING FLEX ADDITIVE IS FOR THE PAINT TO REMAIN FLEXABLE DURING INSTALLATION, BUT SINCE THE PARTS ARE USALLY INSTALLED IN A DAY OR SO IT'S STILL NOT NESSESARY. THIS ONLY APPLIES TO BASE/CLEAR AND I ONLY USE PPG PRODUCTS. NOT TRYING TO START AN ARGUMENT HERE JUST RELAYING WHAT I WAS TOLD BY THE PPG REP AND FROM MY OWN EXPERIENCE...
