Best Wax or Polish

I have a dark blue car that is just driven on nice days and to car shows. It seems I can wash it and within a few minutes it is covered with dust.

Is there a wax that helps to eliminate this, and also works very well?

you just get a california products duster. Problem solved.

For wax i use p21s. www.autogeek.com carries it. Great stuff. Polish? Mostly 3m products.

Zaino advertises that their product helps repel dust. I've found that to be true.... especially if you use their Z-6 product.

Nothing is going to keep it totally dust free, but I have found that Zaino does help cut it down quite a bit.

Ditto.

The Z6 is a great product.

pretty much anything will help with dust. Wax polish glaze, as long as you have a smooth surface with a coat of something of on it the dust will blow right off when you strat to drive. Of when you use the duster, but its the same concept. a smooth surface with a coat of whatever you use will keep dust from sticking to the car.

I've found that to not really be the case.

I've used Liquid Glass a long long time ago, and that stuff seemed to actually attract dust. Other did the same.... Armour All Paste Wax comes to mind as well.

Yes thats what is happening I wash and wax it and it sits in the garage for a couple of hours and its all dust again. I have heard good things about the Zaino product, I will give them a shot.

i use the expensive stuff and never have any issues. Do you use a sealant after wax? I think the hard "shell" it gives will really help with the dust not sticking. Try Klasse sealant, its about $25 for a 17oz bottle. Lasts for 6-9 months.

I do understand what you mean about the cheaper waxes making the dust stick. I remember using turtle wax on my at when i was 17, I did the whole thing and the next day it would look like ****.

Really pick up a duster. They work very well as long as they are clean. As for zaino, its good stuff. But the only product i use of their's is the gloss enhancer.

welcome to owning a dark color vehicle.

dusters are great when you have a very clean car sitting at a car show. you can't wash the car in the morning and drive for a day only to dust of your car at the end of the night you will scratch it.

put a good coat of wax on it and avoid dusty areas it's part of life. wash your car too much you'll remove the paint and use dusters or similar items and you'll scratch it which a dark paint job shows easily.

+ 1.....i've used zaino, klasse, all the store brands, and ps1s. p21s cannot be beaten for the ultimate wet-deep-gloss pure carnuba slick shine.

Except it causes dust to stick more than Zaino... So as for the OP I'm thinking that's not what he's after

I've never had any issues with with a lot of dust using Zaino, and I don't even use the Z6, just Z-5 & Z-2. You may also want to contact them on the newer All-In-One, and CS Products, as they are even easier to put on, but I don't know about dust attraction

As to shine, you'll be more than happy there with the Zaino Products, and the Z-5/Z-2 goes on easy, and just slight rubbing to polish off. The newer products appear to be simply rub on and walk away.

EXCELLENT long term protection with very little decrease in shine vs most show car waxes with reduction in shine a week later

i have no idea what you're talking about. p21s does not attract any more dust than zaino. i've had zaino on my car for years and it's a fantastic product. but it does not have the depth and wetness that p21s has. dust accumulation was no different between p21s, zaino, and klasse, on a black car.
