Best vinyl protectant?
Best vinyl protectant?
I was using Armor All Protectant, but then decided to use Armor All Detailers Advantage Protectant, and it seems to be the same to me, except the way that it goes on, it smears accross more evenly along vinyl. So do any detailers out there know for sure which is better? Also, are any other brands better than Armor All? Thanks.
AA has been known to actually accelerate the damage of the plastic or rubber surfaces you may use it on by drying them out increasing the chances of cracking and UV damage. Personally, I think it's some of the nastiest stuff out there, and it offers next to nothing as far as protection or a decent shine without being greasy.
There are several really good brands of vinyl and rubber treatments that offer good protection and won't harm your car in the long run. 303 Aeorspace Protectant, Zaino Z10, Meguiar's #40, DuraGloss Leather Conditioner (can be used on vinyl), even the consumer version of Meguiar's protectant is much safer and better than AA. I would encourage anyone and everyone to drop AA from their line of products. I know I wouldn't want it used on any of my cars....
