That link says $10,500 wax. More like $7000-$7500 depending on where you buy it. Still insane, but not as high as they say. Not to mention when you buy that glaze you get free refills for as long as you are alive.

What's so retarded about this is that it is a formula that dates back to the late 1920s made of all natural ingrediants. Sorry... but I find it hard to believe that a n unchanged natural formula dating nearly 80 years back is superior to all current day synthetic formulas priced $100 or less...

Besides that, it's only a glaze. Little if any restorative or protective properties. Mainly just made to make cars shine.

People buy that not because it's a badass product... they buy it so they can tell people how expensive their wax/glaze is.

 

Pressure washers can actually give a preferable spray pattern and consistancy - just gotta be smart enough to keep the pressure low and/or the spray pattern wide enough to not concentrate the flow of water into too tight of a spray.

 

Washing it in the sun? Strike 1.

 

trust me, it'd be cold there where he was washing it, plus, i really doubt at the time of day he was doing it (in england), the sun would cause any drying issues...

 

Bue he says that's a carnuba wax. All the hype I've read from Zaino says that carnuba wax is weak sauce. Apparently it melts away at 130 degrees?

 

Carnuba wax is natural wax - pretty much any kind of wax, glaze, or sealer that isn't synthetic is by default carnuba-based.

Carnuba can start having problems as early as 130 degrees I suppose, but no, if you park your black car out in the sun and it superheats your cured carnuba-based wax is unlikely to suffer much if any.

The main benefit to carnuba waxes is that they generally are glossier than most synthetic products, but they also typically aren't as durable and don't protect as well against UV rays and the elements.

Let's straighten out a few things :

-pressure washers can be a great tool when used correctly - most mobile detailers use them

-most mobile detailers also use reverse osmosis or deionized water - it doesn't matter if it's full sunshine and 100 degrees, those waters won't spot

-if one is going to be claying and polishing, using two buckets isn't absolutely necessary

-carnauba waxes do begin degrading at temperatures around 130

This guy has gotten more free publicity around the world in the past few weeks than anyone could possibly imagine. I don't see anyone around here with the clientel and vehicles that he does. He deserves an award for his marketing and business plan.

 

Those are some sweet cars he's detailing and did you guys see the bucket? Imported from the states! I want one of those.

I wouldn't use a pressure washer. The best thing to do is to take buckets of water and pour them on the roof/hood so that the water and dirt runs down the sides. You also have to remember the first rule though....there are alot of dumb people with money...
I saw a thing on VH1 where the guy that details rich people's carsin California uses brushes to clean the air conditioning vents. They were some super super expensive makeup brushes made from some kind of animal hair.
Completely pointless, doesn't help, but is expensive, and alot of folks seem to think that expensive is better.
