i dont understand the water beading concept. Doesnt water naturally bead? i mean it doesnt absorb. someone enlighten me

 

Water only beads on surfaces that have surface tension.....

 

doesnt any flat metallic painted surface have surface tension? im not bashing wax or anything by the way, im the 1st one to throw 10 coats of wax on my car, im just bored.

 

Flat metallic painted surface?? all cars have been clear coated since the late 80's, water or wax never touches anything to do with the color coat of the car, it is sealed with a clear layer of paint hence the clear coat. Every surface has some degree of surface tension, wax magnifies this surface tension making smaller and smaller beads of water..

 

10 coats of wax? Why? Most waxes strip off the coat beneath it, thus applying one coat.

 

im exaggerating slightyly. but i have stick on 4-5 coats before. Are you sure it rubs it off. I read somewhere that if you let the car sit for like 12 hours you can "stack" coats. i added these 5 coats over winter with a day in between each.

 

It depends on what type of wax you are using, if it is a cleaner wax then it strips the previous coat.............

 

interesting, i didnt know that. this was probably a wasted effort but, i used 2 coats of eagle on polish&wax then 2 coats of rain x wax, and one coat of turtle wax.

 

Wow, you used a lot of products,,,, basically you now have one coat of Turtle on there, all of those are cleaner waxes....
