Am I using Too little zaino?

Well today I did my first ever detail of my car using Zaino products. I bought all my zaino stuff just a couple weeks ago, so I have the new formula. Anyway, when I mixed my Z5 and ZFX together, I only filled the lil bottle about half way (I assume that's 1 oz). Well, with that bottle only half way filled, I did 3 coats of zaino on my IROC, and I only used about 3/5 of 1 oz. The rest I had to throw away since I couldn't leave it in the bottle over 12 hours. But my question is, is 4-5 coats on one ounce of poilsh too thin? I mean, when I was applying it, at first it was too think, but by the time I got to work on other parts besides the hood, I was applying it very sparingly to the applicator. When applying it, it looked like the applicator was wiping the zaino off as fast as it was putting it on, if you understand what I mean (and the surface wasn't hot by any means). However it only lefts a few streaks in some areas, but the obligatory Z6 wipe after buffing takes care of 98% of the streaking (and really leaves the surface smooth).

P.S. Why does the Z6 and Z7 smell like skittles? I just wanna drink the stuff lol. Also, I love the Zaino tire shine, no slings!

I'm gonna try the leather cleaner and condition tomorrow on the SS, and see how that smells lol.

Don't drink the Zaino unless you add ice. You can get 4 coats out of an oz with no problem, it sounds like you're applying it just fine. Next time mix a 1/2 oz or 3/4's of an oz, 2 drops of ZFX per 1/2 oz and 3 drops of ZFX per 3/4's of an oz.

I got 5 coats out of an ounce once. Didn't wanna waste the last two, so I threw em on anyways. Yes, I know the 3-coat rule. Oh well. There are about 50 on the damn thing anyways

All else fails, find a friend's car and give him 2 coats of shiny. I mix 1/4 bottle now with 2 drops of ZFX.

Using Zaino is no more difficult or confusing than using anything else. There is claybar, wash, detailer, polish and the ZFX additive. The Zaino webpage, as suggested, has ALOT of great info about the products, their use and application, tips and tricks, and FAQ's.

There's also a hundred threads on here about Zaino and tips and tricks. Read the directions carefully before you start. They're long (2 pages), but they're just detailed explainations of a very simple procedure.
