93 Formula undergoes a color change!

I detailed Myke's car last year and it looked good, but the paint seemed beyond help, it was faded pretty bad. This year we gave it a try with the PC and it restored the original color! The clear was really thin, so didn't want to use the rotary, but the PC worked great.

Clayed, 2 passes with PC and megs #80 with yellow megs pad, 2 coats of Z5 Pro w/ZFX, 1 coat Zaino Clear Seal.

Pale yellow is out, Vibrant Formula Yellow is in!

BAM!! YELLOW!!

Is that one of those rare factory yellow paint jobs from '93-'94? I never did figure out the story behind those.

So you own one of the one's that came from GM in yellow?

What's the story behind them? Are they a special edition?

Yes i own a 94 Yellow TA. I have the window sticker from the first owner. I am the second and have had it about 8 years.

They are not a special edition. I called Pontiac twice about it the first time they said that in 93 they made 68 Yellow TA's and 93 in 1994. The second time i called they gave me a 1 of 16 number after t-tops and six speed were added to narrow it down. They said they would send me a letter stating the numbers but i never got it. I think between the two years there are less than 500 yellow firebird and Trans ams.

My good friend has a 93 hard top yellow ta. His is one of 68 as best we know.

They are rare. And i love this car. The Sunfire Yellow color code is U9929 if you needed it for anything.

I'm a fan of knowing the color numbers, but I only know them for Camaros, so thanks for the info!

It's been so long since I've seen a yellow 93 or 94 on ebay, that I started considering the ones that used to be on autotrader as repaints and the owners didn't know any better. Guess I my suspicions were wrong!

Is there a website that says this info you just told me?
