Well I just bought a GM performance parts 4L60-e as a replacement for my old transmission that had a bolt come loose out of the rear main seal and lodge between the converter and bellhousing busting the bellhousing open. So I shoped around and got one directly from GM. It has less then 5K miles on it as I did an engine rebuild at the same time and ended up making it a garage car as I just kept having troubles out of it. And got a truck to drive everyday. I just took it out 6 months ago and had a transgo shift kit installed and it works great. There are no problems with this transmission at all. But now I have bought a 383 to put in it and I know that the trans wouldnt hold up to that so I am going to put a th-400 in it. The transmission has a few upgrades to it from GM. Like a corvette servo, and a few extra clutches etc. You can check with GMPP to be exact. I spent over 2k getting it shipped to my house. The converter is brand new with zero miles on it. All parts were well takin care off. This tranmission will last a long time with normal driving.
