WTB LT1 block

I'm in the Madison Wisconsin area. Block must be undamaged and usable. I intend to build a 383. It would be nice if it included an oil pan and front cover.

What are the detials on its condition? What year/car? I assume it is from a vette because it has 4 bolt mains? How many miles? How much money? Is the corvette oilpan the same as a f-body pan?

Re: WTB LT1 block

My car is a 94 camaro. The person I bought it from had the motor warranty shortblocked about 20,000 miles before I bought it. When they do that they put in 4 bolt main blocks. I did the hotcam kit and spun a main bearing. I was going to build up a 383 with it but I came across a different motor. I would get the mains line honed and do the .30 over along with all the normal clean up and it will be good to go. Total miles on the motor are around 25,000. It is in good shape. I can get you pics of it if you want. Throw me an offer on it if you want to.

Pics would be good. Specifically of the damaged bearing/ overall condition. Is it possible the spun bearing caused damage that would not be fixed with a line hone? I've never priced bare blocks before, so I have no idea what price is fair. A few hundred dollars I imagine? Is the front cover from a 94? My opti is not vented, and the covers differ year to year. My car is a 94.

Re: WTB LT1 block

It is a non vented opti cover. The block may not even need an align hone, the machine shop could tell you for sure. The only other damage from the spun bearing was on the crank. The bearing may have spun because of debris from the cam install, I'm not sure. What is your email address? I will look in the for sale section to see what blocks are going for.
