Looking for some 3.42 gears for a 97 Z28 A4.

 

Do you have a 2 or 3 series carrier? My 3.42's are coming out soon and I have 3 series.

 

From the post on here Im going to assume its a 2? Since it is believed that I have 2.73 gears. How can I get a definate answer on this?

 

if you have a gear selector on your shifter labeled "1" then you have 3.23s, and if it only goes to "2", then you have 2.73s. if it reads OD, D, 2, 1 : that means you have 3.23's, if yours reads OD, D, 2 : that means you have 2.73's, and a 2 series carrier. you have to either buy gears specifically for a 3 series carrier and buy a ~$50 adapter, or you can buy gears specifically for a 2 series carrer.

 

which is the best method? buying the series 3 and adapter or going straight for the series 2?
