Cam swap...i heard its different on a 96-97 car cuz of the crank sensor in the timing cover? can i use a cloyes double roller? (3145) or do i need something different

mark , i believe they are the same the timing cover is different because of the crank censor and the reluctor wheel which is on the inside of the cover that rides on the crank (similar to the reluctor gear on the rear axle for abs ) it has several magnets placed (made ) into the wheel the sensor determines the position for starting and maybe rpm ! but timing gears shouldn't matter !

i'm already doing that !you need cloyes 3145 and the reluctor ring (you need this regaurdless unless you are converting to obd1 and not using the ring ! you may have to grind the cover a little !
