Stock speaker

I've got a 98 TA with a blown speaker. Looking for the one next to the rear seat. Driver's side. As always looking for something cheap.

If you want to check on the sizes, I've got all the stock speakers for my car. I'm pretty sure they're probably the same sizes as yours.

OK, Without tearing the inside apart, I can't find out what size this speaker is. The dealer can't even give me a size. Nothing on the internet is helping either.

Does anyone know what size this speaker is?

It is the one that is next to you when you are sitting in the back seat.

According to Crutchfield and my ruler, they're 6 3/4" speakers. That said, I've got the ones that came out of the doors that are the same size. The only difference is they have passive crossovers soldered to them (part #16152322).

I haven't gotten ahold of the sail panel speakers, but I know right where they are.

Just curious, have you looked into getting aftermarket speakers? Just from personal experience, I know the quality is better.

I looked into it once and all the fancy audio shops told me that monsoon system has to use monsoon speakers. of course they offered to replace the whole system.

I just got back from the dealership, and I'm pretty sure the part number for the sail speaker is 16220771. However, I didn't check on a Monsoon part or anything. That number is just for the regular speaker.

Fred,
Sorry I took so long. My computer had to be taken in to be wiped, and I've been gone all weekend.
I'm not sure what you mean by a sail speaker. All I know is that this one is next to your side when you are sitting in the back seat.
I am not really intereseted in buying a new system at this time. I just want to replace the one I blew.
So how much do you want for the one that we think is the correct one?
Thanks

I apologize for not getting back with you sooner. You mentioned that you had a Monsoon system and "had to replace Monsoon speakers with Monsoon speakers."

My car doesn't have Monsoon, just the 10-speaker system. That said, you can have it for $10+shipping. I'll be going by my parent's house tomorrow and I can pick up the speaker.

Oh, "sail" is the term for the area next to the rear seat, therefore we're referring to the sail speakers.

I've got the speakers now. One has part number 16193551 on the back. Let me know what you want to do now.

Fred,
I received it ok. It is the right size but the connections are different. Mine have 4 wires, 2 on each side that meet at the connection.
I can't believe how many speakers there are for these cars. They supposedly all have the same system. The dash mounted uniyt is about all that is the same.
We did finally find the correct part number. It is 1621771.
Do you want me to send you the rest of the shipping charge?
Thanks,
Babs

No, I'm not worried about the difference. I wondered about the Monsoon causing a problem, as mine's not. Maybe Tubby wants it? I'll sell the other one to him too.
