hey guys, im looking for all wheel PBR calipers and the setup to put them on my 1986 Camaro.. i need the whole setup... proportioning valve the whole deal.. if you have it can u please e-mail me with the price for everything

I am not sure what to ask for them. Let me check around and see what's up. They are still on the car, but I have a new set going on and I will show you that picture so you get an idea. The new ones are the LT1 version, the one I would sell you would be the OE 3rd gen PBR's. They are functionally the same, visually just a little different. Anyway, if you're 86 has 4 wheel disc, it has the crap single piston brakes all around, and the bad early style prop valve. You will need to get the proper lines for the rear, I would recommend earls ss lines. Because the early style disc lines don't mate up to the later, pbr style. As for the fronts, unless you car had 1LE brakes, all 4 wheel disc cars came with the same delco moraine single piston calipers up front. You're best bet at upgrading those would be to contact a guy over on TGO, his handle is ebmiller. He makes custom front brake kits for our cars, and I bought a kit from him, the c4 corvette 12" brakes, a while back to replace my fronts.
In short, you'd be halfway there. If i were you I wouldn't invest ay time in the fronts as is. I did, and couldn't get them to stop much better then stock. Spend the money and get some worth while brakes up front.

Ok I found a pic of the cals that are on my car, the ones I don't need. Although, they are still on the car and I'd have to take them off. The prop valve is just collecting dust in my toolbox. You get the idea, the color is not as bright, they were freshly painted there, but those are the ones. Thanks

You will also need new ebrake cables to make everything work. It's a different design I believe. My car had the late model brakes, which were first offered in 89, and stuck through 92, although a shortage of these brakes caused GM to offer some 91 Z28's and 92's with rear drums, at a customer discount of course.
The early style was still J65 RPO, 82-88.

These were the stock style fronts, I put new cals and rotors, pads and lines. Stopped better, but not like I had thought.

Crappy camera phone, but those are the 12" brakes that I am going to be putting on soon. They use the c4 corvette rear rotor with c4 corvette front calipers, PBR dual pistons, just like the 1LE brakes, same ones baer has been using for years. They are great brakes.

what a ****in difference eh... wow.. cant you get C5 rear calipers for it as well? what sorta price did you pay for the new front calipers? there are a few 98 firebirds in a scrap yard near me. could those brakes bolt up if i pulled the whole front assembly off or no? im just kinda scared to change everything out and find out i need more parts and that sorta thing? thanks for your knowledge and sheding some light on my future upgrades..

With the 98's you should grab the rotors, calipers, pads and line to be safe, but you'll have to hack up your spindles and make hubs out of old rotors. Contact ed miller, over on tgo, or even do a search in the brake board over there as to what you would need exactly. But the LS1/C5 brakes are a really common setup too.

nope. Unless you buy everything already made up and keep your stock stuff intact, then yes. To make the brakes work, they cut a 3rd gen spindle, then machine a hub out of a stock 3rd gen rotors. This hub then bolts to the spindle, so you can have a floating caliper instead of a fixed design. Custom brackets are then used depending on what your application is.

i dont really see a difference but yet i understand the floating idea behind what your saying. so i would have to mod the spindle myself then? do you have pics of what that looks like? also.. what did everything run you costs wise? from start to finish?
I bought everything, the whole kit, from ed. I did ad different rotors, but he provied everything you need to do the swap. I think the going rate is somewhere in the 7-800 dollar area. I know hawks offers the 1LE brake package, "complete" supposedly for 850 + shipping. Might be worth looking into. You don't have to modify anything if you don't want to. I didn't, better to have your stockers sent out, cheaper, or just buy some already modded spindles, ie the whole package from ed miller.

You see the difference? The one on the left, still attached to the control arm, that is a stock non 1LE model. They chop it up to make it look like the one on the right, which is a stock 1LE spindle.
