Optispark

I need a good optispark &/or cap & rotor for a '94 Z28 LT1. Mine is doing weird things & I don't know if it's just the cap/rotor or the unit itself. Anyone got one laying around that they aren't going to use?
Thanks!
John

Re: Optispark

Back when I was in a pinch to get my car running I bought a opti from Autozone,it comes with a lifetime warranty.I think it was 150.00 with the old opti as the core.Did you remove the cap and have a look inside yet? When you do install a new rotor make sure that you use lock-tite on the rotor screws..

Re: Optispark

Red or blue loc-tite?
So, they come loose, huh?
And 'No' I haven't opened her up, yet, as I'm going to try to get another Opti before I go to the effort of fans, water-pump, etc. That way, it won't be down for too long, no matter what the prob is!
BTW- I LIKE Autozone's prices!

Re: Optispark

I use Red or Blue,it dont matter..Also make sure you use RTV sealant when you re-seal the cap to the opti..I also rtv the 3 holes on the bottom of the opti to keep the moisture out.

Re: Optispark

Cool!
So, anything special that I need to use on the waterpump seals?
I HATE leaks!

BTW- Autozone DOES have the $149 Opti!
Their cap/rotor for it is $200 though! Yikes!
