Need bolt-on parts for '97 LT1- stock or?
Need bolt-on parts for '97 LT1- stock or?
So, I just bought a '97 LT1 engine from a Formula Firebird, that a woman started to rebuild: had hot-tanked, freeze-plugged, new cam bearings, etc. (bought master-rebuild kit from Northern w/ Comp Extreme Energy Cam, Sealed Power pistons, etc), had rotating ***'y balanced, had valves done, heads & intake gasket-matched, heads planed, etc.
Then she got into a legal-battle with the manufacturer of the Lamborgini kit that she was building the motor for, and now, almost 2 years later, I bought the motor for $700!
But here's the down-side:
She had bought some high-dollar bolt-kits (ARP?) and dress-up accessories for the engine. Then, she parted the rest of the car and threw the 'stock' parts into the shell when she had it hauled to the scrap-yard. THEN, she began returning items to get as much of her money back as was possible...
That's why I now need to find Stock or cheap aftermarket:
1) Valve Covers for LT1
2) Timing-Cover for '95 and up LT1
3) Any good ideas of where to buy a complete LT1 bolt-kit (only GOD knows what I have in the oil-filled tub she gave me!)
4) Throttle-body (prefer above stock)
5) More to come, I'm sure, as I begin to assemble it...
If I can collect the 'missing' parts, this will be a really good deal. If not, then I'll have to part the motor.
Thanks for your help in advance!

Re: Need bolt-on parts for '97 LT1- stock or?
Head bolt kits for SBC will work, as will pan bolts and intake bolts. Timing cover and water pump are another story. I don't know for sure about the rod bolts, the mains are SBC.
