Need a 4th gen rear!!
Requirements:::
Disc brakes
Working posi
3.23-3.42 gearing
That's pretty much it. I just blew the differential in my '88 Trans Am and have been wanting to go to a 4th gen...now I'm being forced to do it sooner. I'm located near Chicago, IL so anything close would be great, I need it ASAP. I need the entire assembly that will bolt into a 3rd gen (everything, disc-to-disc including E-brake cables).
Shoot me some prices and include the model year it came off of and miles.

Re: Need a 4th gen rear!!
Well, that sounds awesome but its a little bit far away. I'm working just about every day this week, so I don't think I'd be able to make it out to Detroit.. The other problem is that the LS1 rear isn't exactly a bolt-on because the brakes are a bit different.

Well since you aren't interested in Time2kill's rearend. I am going to schmooze in here and give you a free TTT.
Would the 01 rear be a direct swap if I used the brakes off my 95 on it? If not what would need to be changed? I am near Detroit and I need a new rear end also.

Actually I've learned that the LS1 rear swap should be the same as an LT1 rear swap for me. I just can't drive the 5 hours to Detroit to pick up the rear-end. Great price though, so take it man.

Re: Need a 4th gen rear!!
I don't see how, as the brake lines would be on the axle already. I would connect the car's hardlines to the hardlines that come off the middle of the rear...

Oooh that only applies to Eddie95Z28 above who would use the LT1 brakes with the LS1 rear. I would use the entire rear-end assembly off of the LS1 car, including axles, rotors, calipers, lines, etc. to swap into my '88 Trans Am..

Re: Need a 4th gen rear!!
I have two for sale. One is 3.42 Geared from a 95 Formula with 132k miles. the other is from a 95Z-28 with 43K miles on it and Spohn Lower Control arm Relocation brackets welded on. 3.23 Geared. I would take $250 for the formula rear or $300 for the Z rear.Both include all brake parts including e-brake cables. located in Nicholasville, KY. Pick up only...jt
