LT1 Battery Cable harness , cooling fan part

Do you need the harness that bolts up to the battery and starter and grounds and what not? I got one, say $10 plus shipping?
What cooling fan part? I have a complete fan unit, some of the clips on the bottom are broken off that hold it up against the radiator, but the fans function.
