Also, what would the appox. insurance i would be paying for a 16 yr old in a 1998 Camaro Z28?

Seriously, go see an insurance agent.
Actually my insurance went up $12 a month when I went from a Saturn to a Formula. But i was 19, not 16.
I really dont want to sound like your mom, but i wouldnt be alive if i had a LS1 when i was 16. I drove like a bat outta hell in my saturn, and if i had power to go along with teenage hormones it would have been all she wrote.
My main point is to be careful. I had one friend nearly die in a 99 TA and im just trying to help you out. You just need to respect the car and realize how easy it is to lose control.
