I have the 'old style' 30028 for my 98Z, Yes it's useful but don't expect a lot out of it. I use it for fans turn on point and rear end gear ratios. I used the 'power increase' aspect of it once and my 1/4 mile times got worse. I change gear ratio often so it's good for that and overall cheaper than finding someone with an 'edit suite'.

The 30028 is for a 98Z with an OBD-2 LS1 engine. No way that will work on a 1995 LT1.

I see a 95 version on eBay - but it's locked. Wonder what's involved in unlocking them or if it's even possible?

My 94 came with one that was used day 2 to alter the speedometer for the 4:10 gears, change the rev limiter and adjust for a different thermostat. I've never plugged it in to the car to adjust any of the settings.

There was a member here many years ago who could unlock them. Used to send people to him all the time. Also used to make and sell cables, software, etc. Can't remember his name though. He sold his cable business to TunerCat or ALDL I think. But they can be unlocked.

Re: Hypertech Power Programmer III

Is the 94 the same as a 95? I can’t remember. Should be. I have one for my 94. The only thing my stock PCM controls is the IAC and the speedo. The only thing I used the 94 Hypertech for was when I changed the rear axle ratio. The “performance” tune didn’t seem to do much when the car was relatively stock and I still used the stock PCM for everything. The revised fan on/off temps were useful w/ a 160° t'stat.

I'm selling the Formula.... just need to get the buyer to move ahead. Right now the car's battery is dead. I could probably reset everything to stock to unlock it from my VIN. Don’t really need the gear change feature any more. When I swapped the TH400 in place of the T56, it was easier to just get a Dakota Digital interface box to correct the speedo.

Mine is 340752, and has a 12-pin connector. The cable is removable.

don't you think the only diffrence between 345752 and 340752 is the cable?
