Full brake kit
Full brake kit
I need everything to redo the brakes on this camaro. (It's a 1994 z28 LT1) I have looked around online and I haven't found a single site that sells a full brake kit for a camaro like I had found everywhere for my mustang. I'm starting a rebuild on my dad's z28 that has been sitting for about 3 years so just to be safe I am doing everything for the brakes and trying to find the cheapest way possible. If anyone has these parts new I would gladly take them, if not, any sugesstions on some good sites for the camaro? I haven't found one yet that is near as good as the ones I use for parts on my mustang.
Thanks guys for any help,
Christy

I want pretty much everything. It's a 1994 I know I should have put that in there... I want pads, rotors, calipers, lines, and a new master cylinder... The car sat for so long that I don't trust them one bit. And I have a son that will be riding in the car.
The reason you are having trouble finding the 93-97 LT1 brakes is that alot of people do the "LS1 upgrade" on the fronts and as a result there is no aftermarket for the stock pieces. The LT1 fronts are single-piston and the LS1 fronts (98-02) are dual-piston, which provides greatly improved braking. Search eBay for LS1 upgrades. The only additional thing that needs changed is the spindle/upright and the kits listed on eBay come with this.
If you are still not wanting to go this way, try gmpartsdirect.com or go to your local autoparts store and get caliper rebuild kits, new lines, and new cailper guide bolts. This will replace all of the wear items that would put the system at risk (and would be cheapest).
Lastly, I know a local salvage shop that specializes in f-body parts. I've put used brake pieces from his business on my own cars, including my old road race car. He's reasonably priced and stands behind his parts. I can put you in contact with him if you'd like.
In case you're wondering, I've done 2 LT1 -> LS1 upgrades. One Baer -> LS1 sideways upgrade and I now have a kit in the garage to change my 97 'bird from LS1 fronts to C5 Z06 Vette fronts. Lord knows I've fiddle brakes on these cars...
