Crashed my 01 Z, need info. and many parts.
I crashed my 01 Z several weeks ago and I am keeping the car thru the settlement. It will be all paid up and all mine now. I hit a guardrail at a perfect t-bone (90 degree). I will start tearing it down soon. Everything from the strut towers forward will need to be replaced plus the hood fenders wildshield and airbags. The engine is still in perfect shape. There were estimates done and they all seem to think that the frame will be OK. The car has AC and the AC will be rebuilt. It has an automatic trans. So, here are the questions:
1. What are the exact years that I need to look for as a part car?
2. Will a 6 Cyl. work? (Frame structure and such, I know the radiator will be smaller), what else will be different?
3. Anybody have a Z sitting around in the yard that needs a new life?
I am in east TN and will travel some. Please email, kenjohnson9021@comcast.net

Seriously, might be worth keeping as a parts car, but don't wast your time trying to rebuild it.
6 cyl will be different computer, wiring harness, trans, etc etc etc. Don't even consider it.
Donor years for body will be 98-02, engine will be 01-02 only on most stuff, trans will be 98-02, with some variation on all, depending on what exact part.
Again, it's not gonna be cost effective to rebuild this one, might be worth keeping as a parts donor, especially for the engine/trans
