the only carbon fiber hoods for our year cars are made in japan or the 1100 dollar one from DG Motorsports.

It is nice, but way too much. I have their GFX and Carbon Fiber Door sills and love them. If you dont mind the money for it Get it.

well. i know about the dgm hood.. i may end up having to get it.. id loev to have that ss hood... thats a good price but i dont have the money right now.. wish i did.. if your still interested in the sell this summer ill buy it def

o aight well if thats the deal then count me in.. itll prob have to be aroudn may or so before i can put up the 300 but if it all works out thatd be great.. everyone will probably want to go with the ss hood.. id rather have the ram air II or the big block but im fine with whatever..

Fiberglass is already a pretty light option. The weight would only be about 1/4 less, if that. You would want to build for durability, not necessarily the ultimate in weight savings. That's why F1 cars fall apart so easily- they aren't exactly built for durability.
Of course each hood could be laid up differently depending on what you wanted- strength and durability vs weight is the trade off.
For the most part, carbon parts for street cars is mostly for looks. You can achieve almost the same results with fiberglass for much less cost.
