we sell gm and yukon gears if you want new mrmgtr@aol.com
I purchased an OEM GM ring and pinion set (3.73:1) from a place called West Coast Differentials. I ordered the set brand new for ~$150 + shipping when I was having my rear rebuilt. They don't have prices on their site but you can call for a quote. Couldn't find anywhere else that would sell them except for dealerships, and those that I talked to locally wanted between $450 and $700. I have not had any whine with this set, and believe me, I know serious whine out of our 10-bolts
Motive makes the gears for GM. I have Motive gears in stock and they even have GM stamped in them. The wine is usually caused by not setting the gears up right. On the gears they are pre set. There will be a pinion depth on the pinion head. And the backlash will be on the ring gear. You might have a small amount of adjustment afterwards. But If you install it right. There should be no to little whine.
