A\C Clutch Cycling Switch for a 95 LT1-5.7L.
Hello fellow Camero drivers, I am looking for assistance to find a part. It is a A\C Clutch Cycling Switch for a 95 LT1-5.7L.(GM#52458970, ACDelco#15-71978) I have searched all the GM Parts in USA & CAN and it has been discontinued. There is one guy on eBay that is selling it for 7X what it's worth ($400 US for a $60 part). I just can't afford that. Would anyone have one of these switches in their inventory???
Any help would be VERY appreciated.

Is this the temperature sensor that inserts into the evaporator, and sends the temperature to the PCM to control the A/C clutch?
Re: A\C Clutch Cycling Switch for a 95 LT1-5.7L.
I knew the sensor was there, but I always assumed it was wired direct to the PCM, which controls the compressor clutch. Didn’t realize there was a box involved. Been on here 24 years helping people with the 4th Gens, and this is the first time I seen anyone looking for one, Apparently not something that fails very often.
If I hadn’t sold my Formula 6 months ago, I'd have one for you, because we deleted the A/C, but never went beyond disconnecting the engine harness. Everything in the passenger compartment was intact. And the box is behind the glove box? I'll see if the guy the bought the car can pull it.
Unfortunately this site has very little traffic any more. Maybe a 1/2-dozen people who show up once in a while to help out the newcomers,

Must be my lucky day!!! Thanks for the interest you are showing. I am really at a loss to find one. Like you said, they must not break down. I will keep an eye on this thread. What part of USA are you in?

Over the last winter, mice got in and chewed up some of the wires. The sensor board was one of their dinners 😖 So it’s not that I can troubleshoot the problem. The cause of not having the sensor is the compressor comes on for 30 seconds and shuts off. Without the sensor there is no A\C.

If I can contact the new owner of my Formula, how hard is it to access parts? The factory manual just shows a wire running into the area of the blower motor. I may need to pull it if he is willing to part with it, and working on my back looking up into the bowels of the dash is a challenge at my advanced age.
Can the sensor be removed without opening up the ductwork? How is the module attached at the rear of the glove box? My aftermarket ECU is programmed and can produce data through a cable that runs thru the firewall grommet behind the factory PCM, into the back of the glove box. I didn’t install the cable. The shop the sold and installed the ECU did that.

Finally found the removal procedure in the factory service manual. Seems quite involved:
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Heater core assembly. Refer to SECTION 1A.
2. Evaporator temperature sensor assembly electrical connector.
3. Evaporator temperature assembly probe from evaporator.
- Use needle-nose pliers to pull probe straight out.
4. Evaporator temperature assembly temperature sensor assembly from heater and air conditioning evaporator module assembly.
- Remove grommet with evaporator temperature sensor assembly.
That's a bit more complex than I thought it would be. I'll ask my buddy, but I wouldn't want to pull the heater core. I was under the impression the "assembly" was somewhere near the glove box, but appears it's internal to the heater/AC housing - some disassembly/assembly required. My apology for my misunderstanding.

I understand if you don’t want to take this on. As it was described to me it was a “pull out” type of connection. Not a disassemble.
it’s allot to ask!!

Probably not good, but maybe check it out: GM 52458970 Switch, genuine OEM part
