Exclamation Z28 rear axle, works great (cheap!)

I'm selling a rear axle that was pulled from a Z28, it is complete minus brake hardware. Has a working posi differential, and I believe 3.xx gears (was told 3.23, could be 3.08/2.73).

I was going to put this axle on my '97 RS, but I sold the car...It was working perfectly when it was removed. good upgrade for the one wheel peelers out there.

Since I don't have my '97 anymore, I have no need for this and want to get it out of my garage...i'm Selling for $250 shipped!!!! thats right, shipping included, I paid $300+150shipping for it.

e-mail if you're interested...i've got ebay references and have been around the board for awhile.

located in Camas, WA (near Portland, OR)...

should fit third gen f-bodies just fine, from what I understand it basically bolts into place, the only difference being that the rear wheels would stick out slightly farther than before, which provides a more aggressive look.

it's only missing the calipers/rotors (and pads, obviously)

I did this swap on my 85, and the wheels will stick out ~2" further per side, which looks ridiculous. This can be remedied by using 4th gen wheels in the rear, but if you want to run 4th gen wheels in the front you'll need ~1.5-2" wheel adapters(the kind that bolts on with the original hardware and has its own studs). I believe Vette Brake Products sells the adapters. Otherwise, the 4th gen rear was a direct bolt-in.

that really depends on your wheel/tire combo, I've seen it remedied a few ways...I've seen one guy who did the 4th gen rear swap on his 3rd gen camaro, using aftermarket "chrome" 16" 85-87 style iroc wheels (and it turned out alright....however if you're using the 15" 5-star wheels, It starts to look like ***.

I just see it as a good opportunity to upgrade to vette wheels =)
