Re: Vinyl Graphics, Stripes, Decals etc.

I forgot to mention I use high quality Oracal 3mil vinyl not the "1mil" crap most places use. Everything is cut to factory spec for perfect fit. Any color, any stripe, any logo.

My prices are reasonable so that anything is accessible to anyone. For instance, at my shop I sell the brand new nose strip for $75.00, or full rally stripes kits for $200.00. I stand by my products, if anyone is interested please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions. Thank you guys.

CWP I'm interested in a set of front bumper stripes for my 1997 Camaro SS 30th with orange color stripes...

What cost with shipping to 48360.

You mentioned "cut to factory spec" are your products GM / SLP certified? If not how do you get the factory specs?

Also, will your stripes have the same wear / UV protection as the originals?

Plus, what's the name of your company and whats the website link...

Thanks

Re: Vinyl Graphics, Stripes, Decals etc.

Perhaps I should have elaborated a little more.

They have been precisely measured from originals as well as on the cars themselves. That's how I know they have fit and I've never had a problem with any customers.

The wear and UV meets and or exceeds the factory specifications. I use 2-3mil vinyl with an aggressive adhesive that is resistant to peeling up, fading etc. Now obviously different regions will have different "problems" such as possibly in Florida the lifetime might be diminished slightly due to the climate, though it's a minimum of 6 years, that's with direct sunlight 365 days a year. Believe me, I've been doing this for a long time so I know.

The name of my company is CWP Tinting & Graphics which is located in Sanford, FL as well as Winter Springs, FL. Our website is being revamped and will relaunch by March. I've had to make numerous changes to include the most popular stripes, kits and so on.

Any other questions please let me know, I have pm'd you a price plus shipping for the nose stripes.

Thank you.

Which Oracle vinyl do you use 641, 651,751, 951, etc? I wasn't aware that Oracle made a 3 mil Cast vinyl, or are you using a Cal vinyl?

Just curious because my experience with Oracle is that their 951 2mil Cast 8-10 yr. product is their premium line and that most 3mil vinyl is an economy 3-5 yr. product.(Never even seen a 1mil vinyl as you say everyone uses)

Not to an attempt to bash your post just wanted to let people know the difference, as most people don't.

Oracle Vinyl Grades
Oracle 641 economy Cal 2.75mil 4 yr vinyl
Oracle 651 Intermediate Cal 2.5mil 6 yr vinyl
Oracle 751 High Perf Cast 2mil 7-8 yr vinyl
Oracle 951 Premium Cast 2mil 8-10 yr vinyl

All Oracle vinyl will have their name and vinyl grade printed on the back of the backing paper. Don't be duped into thinking that a thicker vinyl is better because frankly it is not.

Buyer's please educate yourself to protect yourself. Nobody with 12 years experience in the industry would make that statement, nobody. In fact I would encourage people to seek out a local and reputable graphic company to do any vinyl/detail work for your vehicles.

IMHO

Re: Vinyl Graphics, Stripes, Decals etc.

Because you haven't seen a 1 mil vinyl does not mean it isn't out there. I've seen it, I've seen people use it. I would never use it, ordered a product from a specific site (not saying who) and compared it and frankly it was garbage. As with 3M most 3M is garbage. They should have stuck to making tape in my opinion.

Oracal does in fact make a 3mil vinyl, which it is an economy class for matte, translucent as well as we all know the 631 is water based with a removable adhesive. 631-8100 series.

I use 2.5mil intermediate cal, as well as 3mil as the 3mil is used mostly for translucent applications such as window graphics and so on. everything else is based with 2.5mil intermediate cal which is NOT an economy class vinyl. It has a 6 year life on almost 90% of the 61 colors that it is offered in.

For a list of everything that I use -

951 cast metallic - 2 mil - 7 year
951 premium - 2 mil - 10-12 year
751 HP 2 mil - 5-8 years
651 Intermediate - 2.5 mil - 4-6 years
641 Economy - 2.75 mil - 3-4 years (And yes, it's a 2.75 mil vinyl with lower quality despite it's a thicker material)
8300-8500 2-3mil vinyl with 5-8 years
970RA - 4 mil - 10 years
341 Promo Cal - 3mil - 2-3 years
5300-5800 series (for reflective, such as road signs etc)
and so on and so forth.

even 975 which is carbon fiber vinyl, that's a 5 mil with a 5 year on it, to which I installed on a customers vehicle 2 months ago. Oracal does print each and every name and grade on the back of the vinyl.

If I sold worthless products then I wouldn't of been in business as long as I have with the reputation in the area that I have with 2 locations. Please do not attempt to bash, which is what you were doing with the comment "no one with 12 years experience would say blah blah blah". A lot of people with the misconception of vinyl thicknesses to wear ratio / uv ratio are confused and yes, you cannot say that many companies do use inferior vinyl that does peel off as I have seen it many times and fixed those jobs, though some can be attributed to user installation error.

I'm offering my services online with my website being made as we speak for online retail sales. I'm offering the services that every normal person can afford. Why spend $400.00+ for "quality" stripes when I can offer you the same stripe, higher quality for half the price? That's my point.

I do appreciate you trying to educate consumers, though it might have been a little more beneficial to ask me first or to make a statement on the different types of vinyls I use and what I use them for, as for everyone on here, the stripe kits and so on that you would receive would be made using Intermediate Cal which is a 2.5 mil with a 4-6 year, if taken care of properly you can exceed that time frame.

And I've used everything from Mactac to GT5 and have found Oracal to be the best. - Just a quick snip, it's Oracal, not Oracle.

Anything else, please feel free to ask, thanks.

Re: Vinyl Graphics, Stripes, Decals etc.

Very nice post.

With so many different people entering the world of vinyl graphics(no thanks to an unamed cheap little craft cutter), sometimes it is hard to differentiate between an actual company and an individual(hack) attempting to make a quick buck.

What made me question your post was the comment about the, "high quality Oracal 3mil vinyl not the "1mil" crap most places use".

Seemed like a strange comment coming from someone in the know, thus my apprehension.

LOL, and yes, Oracal. I deserved that!

Re: Vinyl Graphics, Stripes, Decals etc.

As I said I completely understand where you come from. I'm seeing garbage pop up on craigslist of people trying to sell their dgi cutters, rolands and so on because they failed at the business trying to make some $$. The thing that kills me in some respects is the flea markets here. In Florida we have flea markets all over and people usually come in and the biggest thing is the window tint. I charge 149.00 for a standard vehicle, but I use Suntek film with a lifetime warranty. They gripe about "I can go to the flea market and get it done for 100.00" I tell them go ahead, but you'll come to me in a year. I had a woman come to me Sunday, I removed her vinyl from the rear window and it had left a mark of where the window tint was the original % because of the low quality. So she has a huge dark mark where the vinyl used to be because the film was crap. I asked her where she got it done, "flea market". Sure there's people who use high quality, though there are many, many more that use junk that kill the reputation of actual business owners like myself with their lesser quality that peels off. It gives people a bad vibe about vinyl, tint, wraps and so on.

Agreed! Unfortunately, with the economic state in our country the flea market scene will only increase as a market place for consumers.

Well I have cluttered up your sale ad enough. Hopefully with the added information people can feel at ease knowing that your product and company should not only meet their needs but surpass their expectations.

Re: Vinyl Graphics, Stripes, Decals etc.

Hey guys sorry about any slow responses, been really busy but I've got someone here to help with answering questions. I'm also doing stencil kits as well for those of you who wish to paint your stripes and whatnot on your vehicle. I do everything from camaro lettering on the rear, rally stripes, flames, blackouts, badges, hash stripes and more. Just let me know what you need and I'll take care of it for you. I'm working on getting an advertising banner on here and support the forum - Just have to gauge interest before I drop the $$ down. I thank you guys though for the current interest and I'm letting you all know I'm here for the long run, not just a run and gun. Thanks!
