Thinking of selling my Carbed LT4 motor
Thinking of selling my Carbed LT4 motor
now due to unforseeable expenses i may be forced to sell my motor....i really dont want to and it will be a last resort but i figured id get it out now..
the block has been professionally cleaned/honed line honed and all the jazz so its good to go..
the crank is a stock LT4 piece which is quite a bit stronger then an LT1 crank..
the rods are the later forged PM pieces which have held up to 475-500 crank ponies..
pistons are flattop hypers with 3cc VR's
rod and main bearings are new obviously and the main and rod journals were polished...ARP bolts throughout
the heads are LT4's with larger 2.02 1.60 valves and Hotcam springs..they were flowed at 252cfm@550 and a little over 200 on the exhaust side..the rockers studs are 7/16'' and are also ARP...never installed the 1.6 roller rockers so 1.5 stamped are on it now..
the stock roller lifters were checked and givin the ok..
new comp pushrods
the cam is a 224/230 .505/.515 XR roller this cam gives excellent torque and power doesnt fall off like an XE grind..and has less then 500 miles on it...
the timing set is a new HD LT4 set..new seals in the timing cover
the rear main seal is new
the waterpump is new..
the holley 650DP is also brand new
the MSD 8361 distributor is also new
MSD 6AL box is new
blaster 2 coil mounted on the intake is new
the GMPP LT4 dual plane intake is brand new
this motor has less then 1000 miles on it...it had a stock cam in it for 4-500 miles then i put the 224 in it...
this motor made 420Hp@6,100 and 435lb ft@4,500 on an engine dyno with a box stock 650 DP...with tuning its an easy 450 horse motor
i put almost 5G's into it top to bottom but i dont expect to get that much out if it...
if i get a decent offer i will sell..
you can PM me or email me at akers_13@hotmail.com

Re: Thinking of selling my Carbed LT4 motor
if i part it out i want 900 for the heads+sshipping...you can find them cheaper no doubt, but like i said everyhting on these heads are brand new and they have less then 1000 miles on them..these aren't repro's..there "leftover" production LT4's
the cam is a comp XR 224/230...it has .505/.515 lift...that means the valves are open longer then an XE cam with the same duration becasue the XE grind has something like a .530/.540 lift....the XR cam will give a broader flatter torque curve...it will give up a little HP on top but the area under the curve will be quite a bit more
im using a GMPP LT4 dual plane intake as seen here http://www.sdpc2000.com/catalog/738/...e-SB-Chevy.htm
this intake flows more then the FI intake all across the board
i have some pictures of the motor in the car but there at my house with my car in michigan...im currently in NY...if i get someone thats serious about it ill go pull it out
