Set of C5 Magnesium wheels "unobtanium". Fits F-bodies. (pics)
I'm thinking of changing wheels again, so let's see if anyone is interested in a set of light weight wheels for their F-body or C5. A lighter wheel/tire combo improves your acceleration and braking performance.
Fronts: 17 x 8.5 with 245/45/17 (proper load rating and circumference for F-body) Kuhmo MX tires. Tires new are $129.00 each at TireRack. This combo weighed 5 pounds less on each wheel/new tire compared to my OEM Hawk wheels/worn tires. Less than 1,000 miles on tires...
Rears: 18 x 9.5 with 275/35/18 (proper load rating and circumference for F-body) Kuhmo MX tires. Tires new are $221.00 each at TireRack. Also .030 inch spacers for rear tires included (necessary on my convertible, maybe not on a regular T-top or hardtop car). This combo weighed 3 pounds less on each wheel/new tire compared to my OEM Hawk wheels/worn tires. Less than 1,000 miles on tires...
Here's what they look like, and a sample of what they can cost: http://www.wheelcollision.com/8a.html New from GM, four wheels alone would set you back over $4400.00. This vendor is asking $2250 for a set of four (tires not included).
So to replicate this setup, you'd have to spend $700 + mounting and shipping for the tires, and $2250 for the wheels, for a total exceeding $3,000.00. My asking price is $1500.00 (obo). There are a few minor chips and blemishes, and I'll have closeup pictures posted soon.

Here's how they look on my car:

Post here or PM me if you have any questions. I prefer not to ship, but would be willing to meet up to an hour away to drop off if necessary (I'm in Lombard, IL).

Holy sh*t, man, those looks incredible on your car (which also looks amazing). I've always loved those wheels, and they're incredibly hard to come by. $1500 is a STEAL. I say you keep them, but if they gotta go, they better be replaced with something nice.
I'm not interested, nor would they look good on my car, but I just felt the need to compliment your car and your selling price. Good luck with 'em, man, I don't think this thread'll last too long.

Thanks for sending me the link, Dustin.
About the wheels...is there a chance you would be interested in splitting up the tires/wheels? I have been looking to get 2 more 18s. I've got 2 already, and would like to have a full set.
If you happen to be interested, let me know. I am in Minneapolis, and could probably meet you somewhere if it works out.
Thanks!
Eric

Thanks for the compliment, Dustin!
Eric: At this point, I'm not ready to separate them. If I could have found another 2 - 18's, I'd likely be hanging onto them myself!
Of course, you're more than welcome to buy the full set, and then attempt to sell the 17's yourself, but we both know that might be tough and time consuming to do.
My brother lives just south of Minneapolis, in Northfield. So if you did want the set, we could certainly arrange to meet up somehow... I've got a few local offers on the table now, however.
I also have pics of each wheel that I took this morning. Attachments are posted in the For Sale section of the Midwest FBody Association website in this thread:

Cool. I've got some friends that live in Northfield.
I can't afford to buy all 4, otherwise I'd probably do it. Besides, I don't need the tires and at this point you probably don't want to dismount them...right?
Keep me updated, if you would. Thanks.
