LT1 stuff guaging interest
LT1 stuff guaging interest
all these parts are currently on the car. none of it is for sale... currently... yet. I am seriously thinking about de-modding the car (since I kept all the stock parts.) im trying to figure out if the labor of doing all this is worth it or if I should just sell the car as a whole. just need some input on whether or not I should head down this route and if these seem to be reasonable, realistic prices.
well heres the list I came up with:
shortblock:forged 383, eagle crank & 5.7" rods, 16cc dish pistons, held together by ARP hardware, LT4 extreme duty timing chain, timing cover, oil pan, crank hub, vented optispark... $2500
LE3 heads (comp 977 springs, ferrea 2/1.56 valves) with LE3 cam... $1500
Lloyd elliot ported LT1 intake... $125
Comp 1.6 7/16" NSA roller rockers... $150
7/16" rocker studs... $15
racetronix 38lb injectors... $200
SLP CAI... $70
mac headers & mangled Y-pipe... $150
LT4 valve covers... $150
BBK 58mm tb... $200
TCI SSF3500 stall torque converter... $350
torque thrust IIs, 17x9.5, 17x11 (minor curb rash which has been smoothed out and spots on one wheel) w/ sumitomo rubber (front worn and brand new rears)... $900
$700 stereo system... whatever
the car: 94 formula. 135k miles. will have stock LT1 freshened and reinstalled. only mods left on car will be: madz28 tune, SLP loudmouth catback, 3.73s in rear, transmission oil cooler, built 4L60E (supposed to handle 500hp), poly tranny mount (may put a stock replacement back in so ride quality increases)... HOPEFULLY get 5500 for the car.
that should be at least $10000 which is more than I could get for the car if I sell it altogether. what do you guys think, good idea or bad idea?

If you do decide to sell, I got dibs on the LT1 Intake and the roller rockers. How many miles are on each of these items? Can you send pics to: Gentner_Z28@hotmail.com

those two have pictures, my engine has less than 3000k miles on it as do most of the components.
im seriously tired of screwing with this car. it used to be a reliable fun daily driver. now its a race car for the street, ive gone too far. dont get me wrong the way it runs (even in its current state) is awesome and it sounds SO MEAN I love it but its reeaaallllyyy expensive to drive/maintain.
on a lighter note, hows chucktown and all the dudes down there? havent talked to you guys in forever!

Don't do it!
Get your car running right man!
You've put so much money into it to just sell it all and never get to reap the benefits.

Re: LT1 stuff guaging interest
don't hold your breath... I have several small fixes I want to do and if I cant get what I want out of it she may come apart. this was more of a post to get peoples opinion if I should invest the time to tear it apart, sell it as is, or keep it and if everything I listed was reasonable. NOTHING is for sale at the moment. guess I should have put this in the lounge lol
