LT1 / LS1 Steering Shaft & Rag Joint Eliminator
I've got two steering shafts for sale. Both work with 93-97 LT1 F-Body's. Only reason for selling is that I have completely swapped out my steering rack for an LS1 rack and LS1 components.
The shaft on the LEFT is an LS1 shaft that has been modified to work with the stock LT1 steering rack & pinion. Modified as in the top half has to be separated from the bottom half and then rotated to line up like the OEM shaft. You cannot take an LS1 shaft and simply install it in an LT1 F-Body, this modification HAS TO BE DONE!
The shaft on the RIGHT is an OEM LT1 shaft that has the "rag joint eliminator" installed which eliminates all the slop in the OEM design.
Both have been cleaned up and painted Gloss Black.
My recommendation: I've had both shafts in my car and they both work EXACTLY THE SAME! The only difference would be that the LS1 shaft has a little more header clearance than the LT1 shaft, THAT'S IT! However I can say that both shafts will work with Pacesetter Long Tube headers as that's what I have installed on my car.
