LS7 LS6 454 brand new 37 years old
This little jewel is for someone looking for a period specific LS6 or 7, crated and stored since 1973 in a heated dry location, this block is a one of a kind find. The is zero rust on this partial engine, standard bores with the original GM forged dome pistons, rings installed. Besides this block having the march 7 1973 casting date, it also has the 289 casting # and has 4 bolt mains with the factory bearings and rear seal installed. Galley and frost plugs installed as well with many factory specific ink marks for quality control. The deck pad numbers begin with the "CE" designation which stands for crate engine, or counter engine, these were what GM used to replace your original motor had it had a problem during the warranty period of the vehicle. From my limited research, this engine could be installed and be correct for any 71-74 chevelle, camaro, corvette, monte carlo or light duty truck of those years, possibly others. I purchased this block as a spare for my race car but to be honest I would be doing a great injustice to some restorer out there, obviously this legend deserves better than a dragstrip so I`m attempting to find find it a rightful home, pictures avaliable upon request and offers will be entertained provided they are within reason. There is no crank and rods with this engine. I have however located a brand new NOS steel crank for it and have found several sets of the 7/16 dimple rods that would match this set up as well. email zrat1 at wowway .com
