LS1/LT1 Aluminum Driveshaft
LS1/LT1 Aluminum Driveshaft
LS1 Aluminum Driveshaft removed from an 2001 SS. I bought it for my LT1 SS but have since decided to sell the car. I never installed the driveshaft

Re: LS1/LT1 Aluminum Driveshaft
All you have to do is remove the u-joint bolts from the rear end then slip the end of the driveshaft out of the tranny (can be a fluid shower) then just install the new driveshaft. You might want to also remove the tunnel brace to make the swap quicker.
Re: LS1/LT1 Aluminum Driveshaft
It's not going to work any miracles, it's going to lighten up the drivetrain obviously(less wear on the tranny), and its going to reduce the vibrations experienced at higher speeds. But hopefully others will provide their feedback to help you with your decision. Also if you are interested in purchasing it you could search the message board for aluminum driveshafts and see if you might find the information you are looking for

Re: LS1/LT1 Aluminum Driveshaft
Honestly I do not, I purchased it from a friend that removed it from a 2001 SS, I have had it for over a year and he had it for at least 6 months before that so just with the timewise I would say it wasn't in the car for very long.
NOTE: The 2001 SS was not wrecked it was converted to drag only and the DS was removed to go with a different DS for a TH400

If you have it and accept Paypal I'll take it! I'll have to transfer funds to my Paypal account, but it should only take about three days. Let me know if this sounds good.
