I purchased this unit from summit racing back in December 2012 due to a miss with my AC Delco unit. I've since removed it to have MSD rebuild it less than 500 miles ago in attempts to track down another miss that my car has developed. Long story short, the MSD unit isn't the cause of my problems and the rebuilt unit works perfectly with all new internals (see paperwork). I'm selling because I have a cheap opti on the car and I don't feel like swapping it out again for the MSD. MSD Part #8381 goes for $455 at summit brand new. It will only fit the earlier 92-94 LT1 engines.

I am interested, but not too sure of going to a MSD unit.

 

Never figured it out. I sold the car. I ruled out the opti because I replaced this MSD with another unit with no remediation. I've pretty much changed all of my ignition components except the complete engine wire harness with no success. I suspect something mechanical, yet the compression test and leak down tests that I ran checked out OK when I did them.
