Kenny Brown DD Subframe Connectors
Re: Kenny Brown DD Subframe Connectors
I have had a pair of Kenny Brown DD sfc's sitting in my garage for longer than I care to admit. I am finally going to have them welded on my near showroom 1999 Camaro RS. My question is, what is the best way to weld them, with tension on the on the car or on the lift with the wheeles hanging free? Any advice would be welcome.
Re: Kenny Brown DD Subframe Connectors
Kenny Brown Double Diamond Subframe Connector Installation:
1) Jack up vehicle and support it under the suspension with jack stands.
2) Remove bolts for one side of midpan cross member and sandwich DD SF connector btwn floorpan and crossmember.
3) Use floor jack and raise rear end housing to approx ride height. Remove rear lwr control arm bolt slowly. Line up hole at end of subframe connector with hole and reinstall bolt.
4) Tighten all bolts to specs.
5) Weld connectors at locations C, D, E, (no pics) to subframe of car. May be necessary to use jack under SF connector to get it flush with car's subframe.
6) Repeat for other side.
