What are the best headers for a 96 duel cat smog legal , also best y pipe out there.this is for my son ta butwe live in ca. so need carb number.it for xmas. thanks.

i have a 97 camaro, with the same dual cat setup. here in houston, tx the emssions are pretty strict, and i would need the headers that would still pass as well. when looking for headers there are the shorties, mid-length, and longtube. longtube is out of the question to be totally legal, but there is something there that can be changed to be partly legal, i just dont want to give you the wrong information. i'm looking into the MAC mid-length headers with dual catted y-pipe for my car. the headers and y-pipe will run you about 700-800 brand new. longtube is best for performance, but mid-length is best for emissions legal. here are the ones i'm looking at getting

as i am just as much a beginner as you are, i would definately do some more research in the LT1 forum just to be on the safe side
