Is this a new setup or how many miles are on it? What compression were the 6cc dish pistons setup for? Basically, what did you have in mind with this setup?

Re: FS: Forged 383 LT1 Short Block

This is a freshly rebuilt short block with new rings and bearings. It was running around 11.5:1 compression. This motor has been in my Formula and prior to the rebuild it made approximately 520 whp with a solid roller cam and single plane intake.

I'm selling the car as a roller and parting out the rest and wanted to sell a fresh short block.

Re: FS: Forged 383 LT1 Short Block

I am interested. I want to swap out my current LT4 hotcam setup for something that will make close to 450 at the wheels but still tame enough to drive daily.

What would I need to run heads & cam wise to make that workable with this short block?

What kind of smoking deal could you cut me if I came & picked it up?

To get that kind of power, you'll want to look at some aftermarket heads and get them ported by someone like LE or AI. They can help you with a cam selection but you probably won't get there with an off-the-shelf cam.

I can tell you I was running out-of-the-box, untouched AFR 210 Eliminators. The cam was about 250 duration and .660 lift 112 LSA with 1.7 rockers. You should be able to get a hydraulic cam with less duration and lift and reach that goal.

I can work with you on the price. Especially if you come pick it up.
