I bought a center console from him the whole thing is very nice exept the plastic is missing where it bolts to the car! It is 100% USELESS!!!!! I sent him a PM and he said "I dont do refunds, do what like". So I will be reporting this to paypal. Just a heads up for everyone. This is the first bad experience I have had buying off this board.

 

Not to be an *** or anything, but that is mainly your fault. You should have asked for many different angle pictures. You should also have asked him if anything was wrong with it. If you did all these things and he lied, then you do have a right to complain, but if not you have no case.

On another note. The holes where mine bolts in are stripped out completely, and I made a metal plate to go on top of it and allow it to bolt on. Just giving you an idea to think about. I do not know the extent of the damage though. Post a picture.

Hope you get this worked out. You got to be careful when buying over the internet these days.

 

The console you purchased was fine when it left my hands. It bolted securely to my car with no problems, hence the reason for no refunds. I did provide pictures and answered all your questions honestly prior to your purchasing it. If something is wrong with it then it is your fault not mine. If you turn it into PayPal you will be wasting your time. I've sold around 1000 things whether it be ebay or other boards such as this one and many have purchased through PayPal with no problems.

 

Jeez, I didnt think to say "so, will it bolt into the car securely?" I would assume that would be something an HONEST seller would say before hand.

 

Spoken like someone who has never been ripped off! I am talking about the 2 bolts under the armrest that bolt the console to the floor of the car. It doesnt bolt securely and wobbles and squeaks. Those of you who dont think its a big deal DONT POST. When you buy an OEM part you expect it to be just that....NOT BROKEN!

 

To those posting against the guy that got ripped off, I hope I have the pleasure of selling you something someday. You wont have to worry about me finding "verbal loopholes" in order to pass my less than perfect part off on some unsuspecting purchaser. I bought a k&n cai from a guy on this board and asked every question I could.... are all the clamps and hardware there, is any thing wrong with this part, etc. I thought I received honest feedback when I was told that the only thing missing was the piece that secures the elbow to the bottom of the fenderwell inside the engine bay. I bought the part and when it arrived it was missing a clamp and the snout that the air tube clamps to WAS still there but had been cut down to about a 1/2" long. So now the hose wont stay on. Is this MY fault too.
I feel bad for ya! It is (in my opinion) the sellers responsibility to accuratly describe and stand behind the parts he's selling. I'm not trying to be judge or jury against the guy that sold this particular part. I'm only reponding those that think the buyer did something wrong by not asking enough questions.

 

Bob, thank you thats exactly how I feel! bt96ss, I dont think I should have to look at 2 washers everytime I open my arm rest. The bottom line is either he knew it was broke and sold it that way or he didnt but still wont take it back. That is what makes a bad seller.

I'll find the bolts and washers that I used for that, which are OEM, and send them to you. It was perfect in my 94 no wobbling or squeaking. It's not broken. Just relax man. PM me your address again and I'll get them out on Tuesday.

P.S. I've been apprehending and dealing with dishonest people since 1992. I am not one of them...

 

I feel your pain but it very well could have been broken in transit. Maybe the seller was honest. He (the seller) should at least offer to take it back . Would be better than having his name drug through the mud. But that piece is known for braking if overtightened so how do we know who is in the wrong. As for the other guy with the intake cut off, I agree thats bs.

 

Oh great now the truth comes out that it was already held with washer. Don't I feel like an a$$.

 

They are not like your average washer. They are black hard plastic. I assumed this is how they all are. Appearantly not since Gregg's hardware would not work. They were in the car when my wife bought it new back in 94, which is why I assumed they are OEM.

 

AH HAAAAAA! No sir they are not OEM as much as they might have looked like it. Instead of the washers the platic is suppose to continue to make a smaller hole that the bolt collar fits tightly against. I am sure others will verify that. Will you consider a refund now?

 

Ah, well... that sucks. I do feel like a jerk. Too bad we had to get so many people involved here negatively, but if we didn't I would not have even thought of the washers and would continue to think you broke the console when installing because I know nothing broke when I took it off. If you want to ship it back for a refund I'll do that or I could give you half refund and you keep the console and use some washers. Let me know what you want to do.

not that my two cents count but ive bought alot of stuff from trace and he has always done me right, im not saying anyone is right or wrong but Trace is an honest seller and an honest person

 

did you try contacting him more then once before stirring up all this stuff. and getting his name out there as a bad seller via email,pm,phone etc. i know trace sells good stuff and has no junk as we have traded parts + cash around so i dont really see him selling anything bad.
