Ok Guys it is all fair game. I will mark items sold once they are paid for and will try to ship the next day.

Right now I plan to have the heads off on Thurs. One is off the other, well one ARP bolt needs to come out still.

The Block and internals will come out next week I hope (if the wife gives me some time!)

For everyone who inquired about the Short block. Here is the deal.

1. It is out of the car now. Big thanks to Jason (AKA ss.slp.ls1)
2. some aluminum went into the engine when it was brand new and I flushed the oil 4 times in one month and put pressurized air in from the top each time to flush it all out. 9000 miles later it was still running strong with plenty of oil pressure.
3. The cam came out today and the lobes and journals looked good.
4. I absolutely do not want to sell it without full discloseure
5. I will be checking the crankshaft journals this week to make sure they are also in good shape.
6. I am looking to sell the Block, rotating assembly and oil pan for $1400 plus shipping. I am sorry about any confusion in the original post. I was very under the weather when I orginally posted.

Here is the invoice for the work that was done to the block, Also it was clearanced for the longer stroke.

I will add more pics of the block this coming week.

If still interested, let me know.

Regarding the Short Block,

Ok I have pictures of it now.

Good New and Bad,

I removed the main caps (all but the rear) to check on the condition of them.

They look good, only one has a very slight groove. The rest would not even warrant mirco polishing, justs some 1000 grit or more and some scotchbright to clean them.

I would recommend new bearings, but the block is fine as is and had no problem maintaining oil pressure.

A stock oil pan will not work with the 396 as the stroke is too long at the front. (unlike the 383)

I will include the the following.
Block
Pistons
Rods
Crank
Eagle 4 bolt splayed main caps
Oil Pan
Oil Pump & pickup
Timing Chain (stock actually new with motor rebuild)
$1300 + Actual Shipping (I am checking on a shipping cost) I will try to PM those who have inquired soon.
