Re: Complete LT4 Motor with Trans

I've had a few email conversations with him, and I think he honestly does/did think that its an LT4. I have pointed him to some Grand Sport websites, and he is going to do some more checking to determine if what he has is in fact an LT4 or an LT1..........

Instead of Instant messaging & hating try Networking Jr.

If you sherlocks knew so much why didnt not one ask for the vin #
LT4 all day & the rims are 11.5 if you are so worried about .5 of an inch than get over it.
I bet you didnt pay 400 for the set. with tires
(You dont want to know what I paid for the Motor.) Chrismas in Sept just passed you by.

I love the diversity on this forum..see..its not all good informative information on here..you can also enjoy the posts that are a complete waste of time yet..fun to read Well merry f'n xmas to the guy that bought what he THINKS is an LT4 Grand Sport vette motor and AUTO trans

Well another big "clue" might be an Orange Intake

It is possible the original owner swapped in an A4, BUT I highly doubt it....

Maybe if he'd been nice enough to posted pictures....

Re: Complete LT4 Motor with Trans

another easy way would be to pop a valve cover & check the casting number on the heads.

Regardless of anything, if the engine came out of a 96 Corvette, be it a G/S or C/E or "base" vette & it had an automatic trans the engine is not an LT4. I'd much sooner believe someone would do a LT4 top end conversion before converting to an auto trans... & I actually know someone who put an A4 in their Dad's Collectors Edition LT4 car.
