AFR 215 RR Heads, LT4 Custom Machined Intake, & Custom Camshaft
AFR 215 RR Heads, LT4 Custom Machined Intake, & Custom Camshaft
I have up for sale a topend package. This entire package was only used ~250 miles before my new racing transmission went out. I had already lost most of my interest while waiting to get it together, and the $2400 trans going out was the last straw.
AFR 215 Raised Runner heads Ported for maximum street horsepower. They have been assembled with comp cams springs/seats/retainers. These heads are in excellent condition. I am pulling the decription from Ai's website:
AFR 215cc Raised Runner LT4 Cylinder Head Package:
This is it. Not for the faint of heart, our offering based on one of the baddest 23deg castings made is capable of supporting 670+ horsepower with over 330cfm peak airflow. We start with a brand new AFR raised runner casting, and fully port it based on what will be optimal for your specific application. Whether that's a high-rpm drag engine, an endurance oriented road-race setup, or a late-night street racer, this casting can be formed into whatever is needed. Like our other high end offerings, the dimensions of this port will take into consideration your vehicle's weight, driveline setup, intended use, engine displacement, intended RPM range, piston speed, accompanying valvetrain components, and of course your power goals. This information allows us to quantitatively analyze many of the seemingly insignificant decisions that will have an effect on the overall performance of your combination. Like the Full Port standard runner 23deg castings, with the right setup, this head can also be part of a very powerful, yet well mannered package. The use of this cylinder head will require shaft mounted rockers with a .450" (Intake) offset, along with .150-.180" offset lifters and a custom or converted SBC intake manifold. The pricing as follows is for ported bare castings with stainless steel valves and no other components. As there are so many valvetrain options for a package of this nature, please contact us regarding a quote for your particular setup.
Fully Ported & Polished Intake & Exhaust runners
Unshrouded, Re-contoured, & Polished Chambers
Ai Proprietary Valvejob
Valves Lapped to seats & backcut as necessary
Decked to ensure flatness & achieve desired chamber volume
Ferrea 6000-Series Super-Flo Stainless Steel Valves
Pressure testing to ensure the casting's integrity
Full documentation including Flowsheet & Assembly specifications
$3395 - Complete, Assembled, & Ready to Bolt-On
Add the Valvesprings which were $280, the seats/seals/shims/locks another $110 and the Titanium Retainers which were $150. Making it a total of $3935
Here is the assembly sheet and the flowsheet for the heads:

The LT4 intake was taken and custom machined for the angle of the heads and the bolt locations (on front and rear). It was also then fully race ported (matched intake runners to the heads), opened up for a monoblade throttle body and drilled in the rear for a distributor. Remember AFR 215RR heads will not accept any "factory" LTX intake setups. This one has been extensively and professionally modified by Advanced Induction to work with the heads. This means you retain your stock hood and appearance.
From Ai's Website:
LT4 Intake Manifold Porting
If you're going all out with an LT4 setup, the Intake Manifold deserves some attention. The later castings we have received do not even come close to matching the Raised Runner heads you paid a premium for. For a visual reference, click here to see a new GM LT4 intake with an LT1 gasket. To see just how much material there is to remove, click here to see the same LT4 intake with the proper LT4 gasket. Quite a difference!
Pricing:
Basic Match Porting - $275 - Gasket matched & blended back 1-2" into the existing runner along with enlarged Throttle Body bores.
Street/Strip Porting - $575 - Fully ported runners focusing on consistent crossections cylinder to cylinder and optimum taper angle. This also includes enlarged Throttle Body bores as well as additional internal contouring.
Ai's List Prices:
$575 Race Porting
$245 LT4 Intake
$400 Custom Machine Work to match up to AFR215RR's
LT1Intake drilled the rear of the intake which is easily reversable if you do not plan to run a rearmount dist.
$120 Drilling & Setup for Rearmount Dist.
Making the intake a total of $1340. (about half the price of a sheetmetal intake)
Finally the Custom ground solid roller Comp Cams Camshaft. I think Ai would rather not have me advertise these numbers online as its their grind. I will release them to the buyer or seriously interested.
List price is $395.
TOTAL PRICE OF EVERYTHING LISTED = $5640
Used for ~250 miles, Asking $4250obo for the entire package deal.

Re: AFR 215 RR Heads, LT4 Custom Machined Intake, & Custom Camshaft
wondering about the cam. I have lloyd elliot is doing my LT4 heads for my 383. I'm hoping for 450 at the wheels with one of his cams. Can you pm me anymore details and a price?
Re: AFR 215 RR Heads, LT4 Custom Machined Intake, & Custom Camshaft
Everything is a package deal. The intake and the cam are matched to the heads and therefore are not worth much of anything alone. If someone wanted to buy the cam seperate id sell it. Im asking $4250 obo for everything.
Re: AFR 215 RR Heads, LT4 Custom Machined Intake, & Custom Camshaft
They have already been sold. I used T&D shaft mounts and Crower offset lifters which i sold awhile back already,

Re: AFR 215 RR Heads, LT4 Custom Machined Intake, & Custom Camshaft
Done with the car. Its going back to stock. Just lost interest in it after waiting so long to get it together. Im taking the car back to stock. I had a very good offer on the shaftmounts and lifters so i took it. This way the buyer can choose which brand he wants to use. There are definitly less expensive routes than what i used (even what i sold them for used), so that might help the buyer keep down costs.
If they don't sell soon ill probably just put the setup on ebay. Seems like everything brings more money there anyway,

Re: AFR 215 RR Heads, LT4 Custom Machined Intake, & Custom Camshaft
I think I read you're going back to stock...but I'll throw it out there anyway.
Would you be interested in trading the heads/intake for factory LT4 heads that were worked by Lloyd Elliot, and a LT4 intake ported by Larry Meaux (sp)?

Re: AFR 215 RR Heads, LT4 Custom Machined Intake, & Custom Camshaft
Sorry i can't take them on trade as i really am jus taking it back to stock and would have no use for them. Let me know if you get them sold or would like to make a down payment of some kind that would allow me to hold them for you until you sell yours,
