97 Camaro SS w/ Carbed SBC *Priced To Sell*

It is a sebring silver 97 SS, the body has never seen snow and only rain a few times. The car had less than 25k miles on it when I pulled the LT1 out and began the swap to the Gen1 motor. It is finally all done, I am just putting the finishing touches on her and getting the hood painted.

The car is in great shape, and was even featured in Chevy High Performance magazine in April of 2003.

The engine is as follows:
Diamond Custom 4.040" Pistons 13:1 CR
Eagle 6.250" H-Beam Connecting Rods
Eagle 4340 3.480" Stroke Crankshaft
DART 220cc Pro1 23 Degree Cylinder Heads 68cc Chamber
Edelbrock Super Victor Intake (drilled for fogger)
Comp Custom Grind Cam w/Solid Roller Valve Train
1.6 Comp Pro Magnum Rockers
1050 Holley Dominator (gone over by PRO SYSTEMS)

The Moser 9" Spool is brand new, as is the ATI Th-350, the ATI 8" Converter, and chromoly driveshaft. The engine is a work of art, and I coated every part imaginable for reduced windage.

Suspension wise the car has everything BMR offers with the exception of a tubular k-member, although with the motor plate that would be any easy swap now. It also has QA1 12-ways shocks at all four corners.

I personally built it for nitrous, though a kit is not installed on the car at this time. The intake is already drilled for it, but I will just fill the nozzle bungs with plugs for the time being.

This engine combo in a 3900lb 79 Z28 went 9.67@139mph and that was on a 200hp hit of the good stuff. My car weighs about 600lb less than that, so you could easily run bottom 9's without too much stress to the motor at all.

Here are a bunch of shots of the car, the driveline, and the engine build itself. I was thinking that I may just put it up on a No Reserve auction and start the bidding at $15,000. Anyone have any ideas what would be a good asking price or is anyone interested in the car?

I am asking $17,500 , and that is what it is posted locally at. I am entertaining offers, and even considering selling it at a reduced amount un-finished simply because I am short on time and need to get moving on my LS1 project.

Firstly just to answer a few questions about the car, here is some of the common ones I was fielding in the other thread.

Actually I was hoping for 10's on motor, low 9's on the bottle.

It doesn't have a nitrous kit on it at the moment, but it does indeed run.

I did not have it engine dyno'd so I couldn't tell you what it puts out at the crank. We are going to dyno it this weekend or next, it has been so hectic at the shop finding extra time has been tough. With the converter thats in it I expect the numbers won't be too impressive, but the track numbers will be.

It does have a 6pt S&W bar in it.

Just give me an e-mail address and I will take some interior pics and get them over to you.

The car is certainly ready to drive around town, just fuel costs will be an issue. That is to be expected from a car like this though.

There is the standard 3" pipe to a pair of bullets for exhaust, the exhaust terminates under the front seats.

I am just buttoning up little things like interior trim, and that right now. I have been doing that for the past few weeks though. As I say time is short.

If it weren't for CA smog laws I'd buy it. Got any sound clips?

that car in insane, good luck with selling it, I can't wait to see what you have planned for the LS1.

If it wasn't for the NJ emmission ****'s I'd have a FS sign in my car right now.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I will have sound clips up here soon. For 17,500 you couldn't duplicate this car by an means, believe me when I say I have well over that into this project.

I have been bouncing around the idea of putting her on a Ebay, I wanted to see if I could sell it here first though.

Again thanks for all of the kind words. Hopefully it goes to a good home.

Re: 97 Camaro SS w/ Carbed SBC *Priced To Sell*

Took video of it tonight with my digital camera. Not the best quality but you get an idea of what she sounds like, and I also took shots of the tach and oil pressure gauge.

Should be up soon.

It seems that is the reply I get from a lot of people. They think with the swap that it would be full race car and its not. Hell it still has the factory seats (power driver), power windows, etc.

What about the price I think $17,500 is more than reasonable.

I wonder how she will fair on E-Bay , that may be a good option to go with.

Looks like ebay will be the best bet here.
