9.82@145 LT1 heads for sale

I'm selling some of the parts that took my 3750lb Camaro to 9.82 at 145 on a soft launch this spring: my "magic" LT1 heads, Stefs pan with matching pickup and Moroso blueperinted pump, and my Hooker long tubes. Go here: http://para.noid.org/~lj and click on For Sale.

I was always worried that the slip joint on the #1 primary was causing an exhaust leak that, in turn, was confusing my O2 sensor on that side. So I had Top of the Hill weld the slip joint shut. I don't know if the slip joint caused an exhaust leak before, but I *know* it can't cause one now!

Hi LJ,

How much do you plan on letting the headers go for and would you sell your setup with the y pipe??

Thanks,
daniel

I'm asking $380 plus shipping for the headers. I have a dual-cat y-pipe that is a pair of 3" pipes leading to a 3"-to-4" Flowmaster merge pipe that I will toss in for another $50, but the cats are hollow. Now that could be a good thing or a bad thing, depending. Here's a link to a picture of the y-pipe: http://para.noid.org/~lj/Exhaust/images/mufflex.jpg

Sry but off topic LJ....

How did they go about welding your slip-tube correctly?
They have an extra set of LT1 heads there to bolt them up to on a work bench? I dont think they could weld it shut while on the car unless they are talented.
I am having the same freakin problem with my slip-tube but I want to be able to pull it out w/o yanking the motor..

Thanks

Cody

They had a set of heads in the shop. The small block Chevy exhaust bolt pattern stayed the same for over 40 years. The bolt holes on these headers line up just right.

I don't have a flow sheet for them, but if that gets in the way I'll run 'em up to Blackstone's shop and watch him do the flow measurements. There is no material added to the ports.

FWIW, Mike is a major advocate of low- and mid-lift flow rather than going for sewer-pipe flow numbers at 0.700. All of the good LT1 heads I've seen peak at about 290 on the intake. Unless you move the pushrod you're not going to get any more. But Mike's heads typically flow much better than the other's I've looked at in the 0.200 to 0.400 range.

Example: he bumped the GTP-ported AFR heads I'm going with from 135 to 149 at .200 and from 193 to 210 at .300 on the intake, and the exhaust went from 158 to 177 at .300 and from 198 to 213 at .400. Peak flow numbers at .700 didn't change much. His stuff works!

BTW, I've added a 242/254/114 hydraulic roller and a 6" x 6" K&N air filter to the heads, headers, and pan/pump combo listed on the For Sale page. http://para.noid.org/~lj/ForSale/ForSale.htm

BTW2, my apologies for the size of that page. Lotsa pix - probably takes forever to load with a modem. Y'all need to buy some stuff so I can shrink it down!

On which item? Heads, headers, pan, cam, K&N?

The headers are coated - see http://para.noid.org/~lj/ForSale/ForSale.htm for pix, description, and prices.

The headers, y-pipe, pan, and oil pump are sold, but I still have the "stage 4" heads, 242/254 GTP hydraulic roller cam, K&N air filter, and some other misc stuff. Info here: http://para.noid.org/~lj/ForSale/ForSale.htm
